Our Whole Nut mix includes pine nuts, hazelnuts, walnuts, monkey nuts and sunflower seeds all in their shells to provide your squirrels with exercise to retain their healthy teeth and a balanced diet closer to that found in the wild.

Q: Will this mix create much mess?

A: Squirrels do not do "table manners" so they are not the tidiest of eaters to begin with. As a lot of the ingredients in the Squirrel Whole Nut are within their shells - once the squirrel has gnawed through the shell to get to the goodies inside they will discard what is not edible - be prepared with your dustpan and brush!

Q: What else can squirrels eat?

A: Grey squirrels have a more varied diet than the reds. If you wish to offer further treats for them it is best to stick with what they can find in the wild. They will happily eat apples but you may want to chop them up as they have a tendency to take a few bites and discard the rest. Celery, bean sprouts and carrots will also be readily consumed.
