Q: Does this hedgehog house have a viewing lid?

A: The Pent Hedgehog House does not have an opening lid. It is intended for breeding and/or hibernating hedgehogs which must not be disturbed. The anti-predator tunnel can be removed in the autumn to give access for cleaning and maintenance.

Q: Do I need to add bedding to this hedgehog house?

A: You can add some starter material in the bed chamber if you prefer and this can help with early adoption. However, broody hedgehogs prefer to collect their own bedding material before giving birth and enough room should be left to allow for this natural behaviour. It's better to ensure plenty of appropriate bedding material in the vicinity for hedgehogs to collect themselves.

Q: Is the Hedgehog Pent House suitable for hedgehogs to hibernate in?
